The finalists for each category are:

Wellington Airport Best Emerging Business: Green coffee company Raw Material, recycling station manufacturer Method, and Palmerston North-based Integration Technology Limited, provider of retail automation in petrol stations.

CentrePort Best Medium/Large Business: Games publishers Pik Pok, beauty brand Antipodes, and chocolate producers Whittaker’s.

WREDA Services to Export Award, celebrating firms that support the region’s exporters: Communications firm Silvereye, logistics company 360 Logistics and Sell Global, a company helping businesses sell their products via Amazon.

The winners of each category will then compete for the ASB Exporter of the Year Award.

All winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel on the evening of 24 May 2018.

The judges are three experts in the area of trade: Mike Atkins, Head of Trade Finance at ASB; Charles Finny, Government Relations Consultant, Saunders Unsworth; Rachel Baxter, Customer Managers’ Team Leader, NZ Trade and Enterprise.

Wellington Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive John Milford said the purpose of the awards was to celebrate businesses making it in the export market.

“Exporters play an important role in the economy of our country and we need to acknowledge their contribution.

“We want to celebrate and tell the stories of the heroes of the export community in Wellington that contribute so much in the form of export receipts and jobs to both the national and local economy by way of their skill and innovation.”
