ExportNZ Wellington launches third annual Export Awards

ExportNZ Wellington launches third annual Export Awards

The success of greater Wellington Region exporters will be celebrated at the region’s third annual ExportNZ ASB Wellington Export Awards in May.

Entrants must be managing their export earnings and revenue generating operations from within the catchment area of ExportNZ Wellington, which includes the greater Wellington Region, the Wairarapa and Manawatu.

Details were announced by Wellington Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive John Milford.

Companies can enter any of four categories – Wellington Airport Best Emerging Business Award, CentrePort Best Medium/Large Business Award, Excellence in Innovation Award and WREDA Excellence in Maori Export Award. Entrants will be required to describe their company and its achievements in export.

Entries opened today and close on 1 April. The winners of each category will contest the supreme award, the ASB Exporter of the Year, which will be announced at a gala dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel on 23 May.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise is again a strategic partner for the ExportNZ ASB Wellington Export Awards. Category winners will be automatically shortlisted and invited to the pitch sessions for the New Zealand International Business Awards.

John Milford says the purpose of the awards is to celebrate businesses making it in the global marketplace and the contribution they make to the success of New Zealand on the world stage.

“We are proud to be partnering with our major sponsor ASB and our category sponsors again to celebrate our exporters in the Wellington Region. Our exporters contribute so much in the form of export receipts and jobs to both the national and local economy by way of their skill and innovation.

“These awards are a great chance for export businesses to expand their business horizons, be recognised as great businesses and be inspired.”
