ExportNZ ASB Central Region Export Awards 2026

ExportNZ ASB Central Region Export Awards 2026

For more than a decade, the Export NZ Awards have recognised the ambition, grit, and global impact of businesses from across the Central Region who are taking their products and services to the world.

Each year the Awards bring together exporters from Wellington, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Whanganui and now Nelson Tasman to share their progress, reflect on their journey, and stand alongside others building internationally focused businesses from Aotearoa New Zealand.

More than a celebration, the process itself provides real value. Entrants gain fresh perspective on their business, receive objective feedback from experienced judges, recognise the people behind their success, and connect with other exporters who understand the challenges and opportunities of global markets.

What’s involved

Entering is straightforward.

• A short entry form taking around 15 minutes to complete
• A one hour conversation with the judging panel where you can present and test your export story
• A dedicated feedback session following judging, providing practical insight from some of New Zealand’s most experienced export business leaders

Whether you are scaling into new markets, innovating, or strengthening your foundations, entering the Awards is an opportunity to pause, take stock, and acknowledge how far your business has come.

The Awards Gala Dinner will be hosted in Wellington on 11 June 2026 at Banquet Hall, Parliament.

A word from NZ Pharmaceuticals, ASB Exporter of the Year Winner 2025

It was an incredible honour for NZP (an ICE Pharma Company) to be recognised as Best Established Business and Exporter of the Year 2025.

NZP is a biopharmaceutical manufacturer supplying leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across 35 countries with pharmaceutical intermediates, active ingredients, dietary supplements, and diagnostics products. The awards are a testament to our talented team and further strengthen our resolve to keep innovating, adding value, and delivering high-quality products to our customers worldwide.

The ExportNZ awards are an excellent opportunity to celebrate the achievements of New Zealand’s export community and the many remarkable companies that drive our economy forward. The awards process was efficient and expert judges offered valuable insights and reflection. I would certainly encourage NZ businesses to apply for future export awards.

Ed Teece, Managing Director, NZ Pharmaceuticals

Judges' Choice

The Judges’ Choice Award gives special recognition for outstanding achievement in exporting. The winner is chosen from an entrant that does not win one of the four Best/Excellence categories.

Everyday Heroes Award

Every successful enterprise has a visionary leader to whom the accolades normally fall, but the committed people who implement their vision through growth, often go unnoticed.

The CentrePort Wellington Everyday Heroes award provides an exporter the opportunity to recognise an individual within their own business who makes a huge contribution to their export success. These nominees are often the unsung heroes of your business and may sit at any level within your organisation.

The information to be provided by the Nominator is designed to provide judges with insight into the individual Export Achiever Nominee’s contribution to export processes, products or technologies, team dynamics and ultimately result in export growth and profitability.

Detailed Entry Criteria:

  • Entry into this award is through nomination only, you can nominate yourself.
  • Entrants in the ‘Best Emerging Business’, ‘Excellence in Innovation’ and ‘Best Medium to Large Business’ categories may also enter this award.
  • A nominee may come from any Wellington, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Whanganui and Nelson Tasman-based export or related services company and hold any position within that company.
  • Nominations are confidential.
  • ExportNZ has sole discretion to accept or decline an entry.
