Message from the executive director

An agreement set to increase New Zealand’s GDP by over $600 million is enough to make all exporters sit up and seek out opportunities. The new economic cooperation agreement with Taiwan (ANZTEC) will make New Zealand the only country in the world to have full free trade with China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Innovative ExportNZ award winners are flying high around the world

An entrepreneurial trio of two brothers and a friend recently won the Bay of Plenty regional business export innovation award for their two year old brainchild Switch Kites.

The company's kiteboards and sails are manufactured in China and Tunisia, distributed from warehouses in London and Hong Kong, while 700-plus ‘team riders', or brand ambassadors, promote and help sell the product to kitesurfing enthusiasts all over the world.

It's the only company of its type which sells direct to the customer from its website, and it's the ‘touch it, feel it, try it, love it, buy it' concept that customers have embraced. More...
