This document is designed to provide guidance on Safe Work Practices under COVID-19 Alert Level 3 for manufacturers not registered with MPI.

The guiding principle for this document is that all businesses tailor the principles of disease control for their specific circumstances. They must ensure, as much as possible, that people are able to remain within their designated ‘Bubble’ and do not spread the virus. Disease management is founded on the principles of FIND-CONTAIN-CONTROL”, and this document is organisedaround these categories.

The measures listed in this document reflected current government rules and guidelines issued by MBIE,  Ministry of Health and WorkSafe; most can be found in various parts of the official website (covid19.govt.nz)

What we know about COVID-19

• The most likely way you’ll catch the virus is by breathing in micro-droplets a person close to you has released by sneezing, coughing –or just breathing out
• You can, however, also catch it via the hand-to-face pathway: touching a surface where live virus material is present, then touching your mouth, nose or eyes
• Spread of COVID-19 is highest from people with symptoms
• Spread of COVID-19 before symptoms appear is less common
• No cases reported yet of COVID-19 spread from people without symptoms
