As often happens during the European and North American summer breaks the intensity of trade policy negotiations have eased up a bit. While there has been intensive lobbying on CPTPP with the Chinese Ambassador even going public in support of Beijing’s application.  So, in New Zealand there has been time for current and potential future trade policymakers to reflect on the future – this month we take a look at the recent comments from the National Party’s trade spokesperson, Hon Todd McClay, and how they may stake up.

The GIDI: Clean Tech Hot Water Heat Pump programme offers co-funding targeted at businesses that use a significant amount of hot water – for example businesses with large bathrooms such as gyms, retirement villages or hotels; large commercial kitchens and laundries; or small-scale manufacturers that use significant amounts of hot water for things like processing food.

It’s now easier than ever for businesses to apply to join Customs’ Secure Exports Scheme, which helps exporters save time and money at the border.

The scheme is designed to help New Zealand exporters by reducing barriers, improving certainty in key export markets and speeding up cargo into and out of New Zealand.

Applications to become an SES partner can now be submitted online through the Business Connect website. This will simplify and streamline the process, making it easier and more accessible for exporters to join and benefit from the scheme.

Wine exports have surged to a record level with volumes up 20 percent, despite the extreme weather growers have faced in the past year.

New Zealand Winegrowers said the total value of wine exports for the year ended May was a record $2.3 billion, on the back of strong international demand.
