Three presenters will share their stories about the challenges of building a successful global business.

Greg Jarvis, Chief Executive Officer, Bluelab Corporation Ltd

Greg has been the CEO and major shareholder in Bluelab (and its predecessors) since 2000, in which time he has developed significant experience in all aspects of international business development. Recent activities include the formation of the Bluelab USA office based in California to enable a stronger in-market presence for the company in North America. Bluelab Corporation Ltd designs, manufactures and markets a range of metering and control equipment for measuring and controlling parameters such as pH, conductivity and temperature. The products are sold mainly through global distribution partners, although a small percentage of product is sold directly to customers via our buy on line website. The company exports its product range to USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.

Matt Glenn, Chief Executive Officer, Robotics Plus Limited

Matt holds extensive experience as an executive in the technology industry. With a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Leeds, Matt moved to New Zealand in 1995 for a Post-Doctoral role at Genesis Research & Development Corporation. Matt became the Head of Genomics at Genesis and what was, at the time, the largest DNA sequencing facility in the Southern Hemisphere, where he gained significant experience in operations and business development. Matt was part of the Leadership Team that led the IPO on NZX and ASX in 2001, raising approximately $50m. Matt has since had roles at Fonterra and Ballance (2003 – 2009), gaining expertise in strategy development; portfolio, programme, project and capability management, commercialisation of science and technology, M&A and PR/communications. Matt also spent a number of years in Management Consultancy (2009 – 2014) working in the Banking and Technology sectors. Prior to joining Robotics Plus Limited, Matt was the CEO at Hill Laboratories (2014- 2018), New Zealand’s largest private analytical testing laboratory with over 400 scientists in Hamilton, Auckland, Wellington, Blenheim and Christchurch. Matt has specific experience developing technology related businesses overseas particularly in Japan, US, UK and China.

Timothy Allan, Founder, UBCO

UBCO was founded on the idea of a Utility Electric Vehicle (UEV) that would transform the way people ride, work and play. UBCO was formed in 2015 and has rapidly developed into a digitally connected UEV platform including on and off road transport, 2 and 4 wheel platform, with three enabling products and services: portable power, accessories, and subscription software. Timothy Allan has over 25 years of experience as an innovation and R&D Leader. Timothy established his own product development and innovation company Locus Research in 2002, and has operated across diverse industries from sporting and equipment, to construction products, medical devices and aerospace. He has advised some of New Zealand’s leading companies on R&D and Innovation as well as being an active early stage investor.
