This is a 3.5-hour fully funded workshop focusing on the growing markets of Southeast Asia. The workshop will equip you to tap into the expert academic knowledge of the facilitators, as well as learn from other experienced Kiwi exporters, as you discover the exciting opportunities, benefits and challenges of doing business with this region.  The topics we will cover include:

  • Trading environments, key aspects of cultures and how to do business in these markets
  • Key insights about in-market competition
  • Identifying opportunities and market entry strategies
  • First-hand experiences from other Kiwi exporters
  • Networking opportunities and the potential to connect to the ASEAN region through the SEA CAPE alumni network.

Meet your speakers

Dr Grigorij Ljubownikow – Lecturer at the Graduate School of Management, University of Auckland
Greg has a research interest in competitive strategy with a particular focus on competitive dynamics and growth strategies. His research has been published in international journals, and he has more than ten years of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Lately, he has been teaching at the University of Auckland Business School in the Business Master’s, MBA, and Executive Education programmes. In his Strategy Capstone course, he and his students work with NZ companies to address their domestic and international strategy challenges.

Associate Professor Thu Phuong Truong – School of Accounting and Commercial Law at Victoria University of Wellington
Phuong’s research interests include financial regulation, corporate governance, corporate disclosure, corporate strategy and firm valuation, and she has been a member of the management committee of the Quantitative Accounting Research Network in New Zealand since 2012.
