ExportNZ ASB Bay of Plenty Export Awards 2025

 

The ExportNZ ASB Bay of Plenty Export Awards honour and celebrate the accomplishments of companies exporting goods and services to overseas markets from the BoP region.  

This year’s event recognises exporting excellence from throughout the region, including Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whakatāne, Kawerau, Ōpōtiki, Rotorua and Waihi. The awards gala will be held at Mercury Baypark Stadium Lounge, in Mount Maunganui, on 18 July.  

The ExportNZ ASB Bay of Plenty Export Awards promote the benefits of exporting, as well as showcasing export success stories and the contribution exporting makes to the local economy. They also provide an opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange among exporters and other business professionals. 

We invite exporters from throughout the Bay of Plenty region to share their stories and celebrate success. The ExportNZ ASB Bay of Plenty Export Awards are judged by a panel of experienced exporting specialists drawn from industry, partners and sponsors.

Best Emerging Business

The Best Emerging Business Award recognises success by net return to the New Zealand economy for businesses early in their international growth journey. As a guide, entrants will have up to 5 years’ history of international operations with growth and total annual revenue under $5 million. 

Excellence in Innovation

The Excellence in Innovation Award recognises success in developing and commercialising innovation in international markets,incorporating intellectual property, strategy, processes,and monitoring. 

Exporter of the Year

It is a highly anticipated event and a chance to recognise the businesses putting our region on the global stage. The Exporter of the Year Award recognises success by net return to the New Zealand economy for businesses established in their international growth journey. As a guide, entrants will have over 5-25  years’ history of international operations with growth and total annual revenue between $5 million and $50 million. 

Export Achievement Award

The Export Achievement Award recognises an individual within a business who has made a material contribution to their export success through export processes, products or technologies, team dynamics, ultimately resulting in export growth and profitability.

The Services to Export Award recognises an individual or business, who may or may not be directly involved with exporting, but in the view of the judges has made a significant contribution to exporting success in the Bay of Plenty. *Entry for this award is by nomination only. 

 

Additional Conditions of Entry

  • Conflict of interest: Any potential conflict of interest between the entrant and a judge assigned to the company will be established prior to the circulation of the entrant’s written submission. 
  • Confidentiality: All information provided to ExportNZ BOP Awards judging panel as part of your awards entry will remain confidential to the panel and will not be made available to any third party without your permission. 
  • Registration: The business entered in this Export Awards category is registered with the New Zealand Companies Office. 
  • Investigation: The business entered in this Export Awards category is not under investigation by any New Zealand or international statutory body (e.g. ACC, NZ Police, Health and Disability Commission, IRD). 
  • Catchment Area: The export earnings and revenue-generating operations of the business are within the catchment area for the BOP region in which it is entered. Tauranga, Whakatāne, Kawerau, Ōpōtiki District, Rotorua and Waihi.
