Throughout the Conference we will address vexing exporting questions such as:
- Deciding the support networks you need to plug into to accelerate and sustain export growth;
- Planning logical steps for export success and how to avoid the pitfalls and traps;
- Recognising the need for funding and then how to fund, cope and plan financially to support sustainable export growth;
- Choosing the right business model for each market, including the attributes of a good channel partner;
- Considering cultural differences when negotiating terms and managing channel partner relationships; ensuring your communications and marketing are fit for purpose; and
- Gaining real depth in international markets.
Our three keynote speakers will present their stories about the challenges of building a successful global business. How their businesses changed post Covid-19 and how they have adapted to new challenges.

Nicola O’Rourke, General Manager, Lewis Road Creamery
Nicola has over 15 years experience in New Zealand FMCG industry across a range of disciplines, including Marketing, Sales, New Product Development and Operations. Throughout her career, she has launched over 80 products into the Australasian market. Nicola O’Rourke is currently the General Manager for New Zealand’s loved premium dairy brand, Lewis Road Creamery.Nicola is leading expansion of the business offshore, launching the brand in Singapore, China and the USA in the last 18 months. With most recent success being the first New Zealand dairy brand to get a global listing in Whole Foods with their 10 Star Standard Grass Fed Butter.
Nicola is also Chair of the New Zealand Food Basket, a coalition of well-known New Zealand Food & Beverage businesses who are working together to access a B2C sales channel in China, through Alibaba’s Tmall. The New Zealand Food Basket launched in China in 2019 and has now been operating on Tmall for close to 18 months, a market place for the highest quality New Zealand products direct to Chinese consumers. Nicola is known for her passion in the NZ food & beverage industry. She believes that New Zealand has some of the highest quality produce from the best sources that can sustainably compete both here and abroad. She enjoys supporting NZ businesses to differentiate their quality stories to find unique ways positioning brands to deliver value.
Mike Sheeran, GM International, Prolife Foods Ltd
Michael has had 20 years’ experience working with FMCG retailers in NZ, Australia, SE Asia and other International markets. At Prolife Foods Michaels roles have centred around Sales, general management, and executive positions developing new business strategies in particular new market opportunities. Spending 11 years in the NZ domestic market provided Michael great insight into Prolife Foods core categories, NZ retailers and importantly consumers. With Prolife Foods looking to expand to Australia Michael spent the next 6 years setting up PLF’s Australia from company concept idea, to now a $100m + standalone business with 800 staff, manufacturing & warehousing facilities in Victoria, distributing products across Australia. Demonstrating Australia is a great opportunity for NZ companies with category innovation, capabilities and drive to succeed. The last 3 years Michael has spent developing Prolife Foods International business delivering ANZ consumer propositions into global markets across each of Prolife Foods core categories. Michael has experience in transforming domestic product and business capabilities into differentiated export opportunities delivering accelerated and sustainable export growth.
Graeme Tregidga, General Manager Sales, New Zealand King Salmon
Graeme joined NZ King Salmon in 2004 as Exports Manager. NZ King Salmon has now opened offices in Australia, Japan, North America, China and Europe. Graeme is now General Manager Sales which includes New Zealand domestic and all international sales. Over the past 10 years Graeme has focused on transforming NZ King Salmon away from the commodity markets into premium foodservice sectors around the world. A key strategy has been to focus on the brand story and driving this brand awareness in the end users mind with the aim of building a long term sustainable export business.
